ACCESSING PROJECT VIEW
To access the Project Management features:
- Click the project view icon under the 'Home' tab
When you access project view, you will find that your Parent Branches are presented as tasks, with your Child Branches presented as sub-tasks.
To prevent a branch from becoming a task:
- Select the task
- Right click and select 'Edit'
- The Task Information panel will appear to the right of your screen
Using the Task Information panel you can remove the tick from the 'enable project management' box to remove the branch from tasks.
Your Parent branches will have become overview to the task.
When you move the timespan of a task, you can see that the overview bar moves in accordance
To change the dates of tasks:
When you first enter project view you will notice that all of the dates of the tasks have been defaulted to branch creation date. There are 3 ways to change this:
- Select the date directly from the task panel
- On the Gantt Chart itself, click the diamond icon and drag along timeline to make the change
- Via Task information in the properties panel
To change the deadline of a task:
This features lets you monitor the completion stage of each task. You can do so by accessing the completed column and typing in a percentage
The deadline(s) can also be change in the Gantt Chart.
All of these can be accessed in the same way.
- Select a branch
- Access the project option on the side panel
- Select the 'General' tab
Here you can change the name, start date, end date, duration, completion percentage and priority.
The predecessors tab is useful if your tasks rely upon each other for completion.
To create a predecessor:
- In the side panel, minimise the 'General' tab - this is open by default
- Select 'Task', then the '+' sign on the predecessor tab
- Double click on the '+' icon
There are many options here - 'Start to Start' means that a task cannot start before a predecessor.
To remove a predecessor:
- Select the predecessor you would like to remove
- Click the '-' icon
The Resources tab details what resources you will need for your task.
To add resource information manually:
- Select the '+' icon and type in the information required
