Insert Sketch

INSERT SKETCH

You can create your own sketches to enhance or personalise your Mind Map. 

 

The sketch tool can be found under the Insert tab of the main toolbar: 

 

Clicking on the sketch tool will turn off the toolbar tabs and reveal the Sketch Tools banner. The editing options available are as follows: 

  • Select: The select tool allows you to move the shames and lines inserted into the sketch
  • Pencil: The Pencil is the basic line tool available, it is a thin, simple line that follows the mouse. 
  • Brush: This tool is just a thicker version of the Pencil tool, this can be used to really fill out some of your designs. 
  • Spraycan: A simple spray can effect 
  • Eraser: The reaser can be used to clear any errors made with any of the above tools.
  • Text: This will insert text into your sketch. 

 

There are a few shape options also available: 

  • Line: The line shape is the best tool to use if you wish to create straight lines. 
  • Rectangle
  • Circle
  • Polygon: Use this to create complex shapes in the sketch tool. 

 

The final set of options can be used to edit the tools and shapes mentioned above:

  • Line Colour: Changes the colour of the sketch tools and the outline of the shapes. 
  • Fill Colour: Changes the inner colour of shapes.
  • Opacity: Changes the transparency of the shapes and tools input. 
  • Tool Size: Changes the thickness of the tools and the thickness of the outline of the shapes. 

 

When you are happy with your sketch just click the Tick to place it as a floating image on your Mind Map.

If you want to remove the image just click the Cross on the sketch menu and this will cancel the drawing.

The Sketch tool can be accessed by selecting the Sketch icon from the main toolbar:

 

  • Clicking on the Sketch tool icon will open the Sketch editing mode. 

 

  • You will notice the Format menu now displays Sketch options from the right hand side:

 

 

  • Select: The select tool allows you to move the shames and lines inserted into the sketch

  • You can click and hold the mouse cursor over the box editing area to draw the Sketch.
  • Once you have finished drawing your Sketch you can save it using the Green Tick icon underneath it or delete it using the Red Cross icon:

  

Once the Sketch is saved, it will function as any other Image would on your Mind Map. You can drag and drop it on to a branch to connect it to one if you wish.
