Presentation View - Dual Screen

The iMindMap 8 Presentation mode provides extra support for presenting with 2 screens.

You can set iMindMap up so that one screen displays the presentation that you wish to present and the second screen is to provide additional information to the speaker.

You will firstly need to ensure your computer is connected to a second monitor or a projector and that your display settings on your operating system have been set to 'Extended' (and not duplicated).

This guide will cover the following topics:

DUAL SCREEN PRESENTATIONS

  • Once you have ensured your displays are set to Extended, enter Presentation mode and click on Play to view your Presentation.

You will notice, once screen will display the main presentation. The second screen should display something like the following:

From here the presenter can view the following information:

  • Overall Presentation Timing
  • Slide Timing
  • Slide Number
  • Upcoming Slides (by selection 'Show Slides')
  • Slide Notes

SLIDE NOTES

Slide Notes are a new feature to iMindMap 8. Please note that Slide Notes are different from Branch Notes.

To insert a Note on to your Slide:

  • Select a Slide you wish to add a Note to.
  • Select the Pencil icon which can be found to the right of the Slide panel as shown below:

  • You can then type the text of your Note in to the white space and format it using the options above 

  • The Slide Note will now appear in the secondary screen for the Presenter when you get to this slide in your presentation.

 

To remove a Slide Note:

  • Select a Slide with the Slide Note on, select the Slide Note pencil icon to open the Slide Notes panel and delete the text inside the Slide Note.

SETTINGS

You can change some additional settings for your presentation from the Settings cog icons in the bottom left hand corner of the speakers screen.

 

From here you can change the following settings:

  • View - 2D or 3D.
  • Animation Speed - Slow, Medium, Fast.
  • Flip Screens (changes the secondary view and main presentation to other monitor).
  • Turn on/off Dual screen mode.
  • Toggle links to automatically open when you get to a slide where they are attached to the item.

You can also select the Play button with the circular arrow in the bottom right hand corner of this screen in order to 'Auto Play' your presentation.

 

Your Slides will then automatically move to the next depending on the Show Slides For... timing you have set from the Settings menu on the main tool bar in the Presentation tab.
